My Own Transformation
My journey towards my own, personal transformation hasn’t been a straight line. For over a decade, I navigated the fast-paced world of advertising as a copywriter, researcher, and finally the Vice President of a major ad agency. I tend to thrive under pressure and tight deadlines, but as the years began to pass by, I continuously felt the pull for something more. When asked what it was I liked best about my job, it was never the writing, the voice over, or the podcasting...it was my team. Leadership, mentorship, and connection across teams was my passion. From there I realized I was being pulled towards a different type of purpose: one focused on presence, healing, teaching, and human connection.
In 2023, I took a leap of faith and walked away from my established career, sold my life in Houston, and moved across the state of Texas to pursue my dreams in the high desert of West Texas. I opened a coffee shop and began to shift my dreams from climbing the corporate ladder, to fully focusing on giving to others. I enrolled in a course centered on coaching others through grief and major life transitions in the hopes that I would have another tool to add to my teaching toolkit. It was here that I realized how profound grief is in our lives. We don’t just grieve deaths and breakups, but we grieve missed moments and opportunities, changes in circumstance, and leaving behind old identities.
As I navigated these new waters: running a micro bakery, teaching yoga, and deciding where to take my new chapter, I soon realized that I had a unique skillset specifically designed to help others through their own transitions. Whether it be a move across the country, major career changes, death of a loved one, or death of a relationship, it became clear that my love of human connection and mentorship was evolving into something more and guiding me to become a transitional life coach. 3. Navigating the In-Between: This phase is about developing practical, holistic tools to manage the anxiety and uncertainty of change.
